As members of the Standing Committee of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK), we were delighted to attend the 2024 Chinese New Year Charity Reception at the historic Mansion House, hosted by the esteemed Michael Mainelli, Mayor of the City of London. The event was also attened by Zheng Zeguang, the Chinese Ambassador to the UK, symbolizing the ongoing efforts to strenghten ties between our two nations.
It was heartening to see the CCCUK, the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), and the Institute of Directors (IoD), coming together to organise such a meaningful event. THe reception was aimed at raising funds for charitabel projects aligned with the 'Mayor of the City of London Initiative'. During the evening, guessts generously participated in a charity auction, contributing to initiatives focused on mental health research, homelessness and numerarcy education.
The atmosphere of the evening was filled with unity and goodwill, with CCCUK member companies participating in the charity auction. Their enthusiastic invovlement highlighted our shared values of social responsibility and comminity development, reaffirming the enduring friendship between the peoples of China and the UK.
Ambassador Zheng Zeguang extended warm New Year greetings and outlined avenues for deeper cooperation between China and the UK, covering areas such as green finance, Financial technolohy, and person-to-person exchanges. Zheng's vision emphasises the importance of open cooperation and mutual benefit, paving the way for aproperous future for both nations and the global economy.
