Established in Mainland China in 1995, Shanghai Asian Insurance Brokers are an International Insurance and Reinsurance Broker.
In 2014, SAIB (UK) Ltd was established with the primary goal of serving Chinese enterprises based in the UK. Since then, the company has evolved into a well-established broker within the London market, known for our expertise and relationships in the Chinese market and the APAC region.
Thanks to this growth, in 2017, SAIB (UK) was approved by Lloyd's of London to become the world's first Chinese registered Lloyd's broker.
1995
HUANYA INSURANCE BROKERS ESTABLISHED IN SHANGHAI
Huanya Insurance Brokers began in the heart of Shanghai's financial district as an industry pioneer in the country's rapidly growing insurance sector. Since then, it has grown into one of the longest-established, and well-known insurance broking brands in China, with regional offices across the country and an army of local expertise on a wide range of products as well as the APAC market's leading (re)insurers.
2014-16
SAIB (UK) IS ESTABLISHED AND FCA APPROVED
Shanghai Asian Insurance Brokers (UK) Limited, Altum Risks' principal firm, is established and approved by the FCA, becoming the first ever Chinese insurance broker to enter the London Market. With a well-seasoned team of experts with decades of experience in the London market, SAIB (UK)'s journey took off in the historical alleyways of Leadenhall Market, with the intention of serving the risk management needs of Chinese businesses operating in the UK. Since then, we have diversified into a far wider client base and solution range, whilst hitting many impressive milestones along the way.
2017
SAIB UK obtains Lloyd's of London Broking license
We became the first ever Chinese Lloyd's Broker, and have since become an established name in the London Market, with an ever-growing network of reputable broker partners and experienced underwriters that allow us to place our business with the world's most reputable and oldest insurance market across a wide range of commercial (re)insurance lines.
2019
SAIB (UK) BECOMES FIRST CHINESE BROKER TO FACILITATE CAPACITY TO A UK MGA
With an increasingly established and widening network of trusted brokers and insurer partners, SAIB UK became the first Chinese broker in the London market to facilitate capacity for a UK MGA. Since then, we have steadily grown our capacity division, allowing us to serve the capacity needs of MGAs across the market.
